Dr Hilary’s Cocktail Cabinet – Cardamom Mule
At the time of writing, we are currently enjoying warm, if rather muggy, weather – the sort of weather that cries out for a long, cool delicious drink such as a Sacred Cardamom Gin and Tonic! I think that, in general, people tend to add too much tonic and drown the gin but the beauty of Sacred Cardamom Gin (£37.70), made with organic Guatemalan cardamom, is that it makes a sublimely refreshing G&T – you can add as much ice and tonic as you like and the fresh cardamom fragrance still shines through. We suggest you serve it with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water and garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit.
Of course, like any good gin, Sacred Cardamom Gin – which was awarded a Gold Medal at the San Diego Spirits Festival – is very versatile and can be served in many different ways. Another drink for the warmer weather is the Cardamom Mule:
Add 50ml of Sacred Cardamom Gin to a tall glass
Add lots of ice
Add a squeeze of lime juice
Top up with Ginger Beer
Stir and serve
